Matthew Allison
Matthew attended his first yoga class in an attempt to get a date, while struggling through college and life in Kentucky.  It is then by chance that he found a tool to help balance his busy professional life, exhausting academic life, stressful social life, and all his other interests.  As his body wrapped into asanas, his mid wrapped around yoga philosophies.  He teaches and truly believes that our body, mind, and soul are connected and inter-dependent - like the sides of a triangle.  If you mindfully strengthen one, you improve the whole.  Matthew sought to deepen his understanding and trained as a group fitness instructor, initially teaching kick boxing, Pilate's, and yoga.  Now as a yogi, teacher, doctoral candidate, and all his other activities, Matthew is happily finding balance.

susanSusan Sebanc
Susan brings her passion for life, health, and yoga back to Lawrence.

After graduating from KU with a BA in English, adventures around the planet, and careers in dance and fashion, her love of the outdoors led her to Boulder in 1998 to pursue graduate studies in writing at the Naropa Institute. Instead, she discovered natural healing, peace, and fell madly in love with yoga.

She trained through CorePower Yoga for her Yoga Alliance certification and deepened her understanding of the practice by taking classes frequently with renowned Ashtanga master Richard Freeman; through his generous instruction she learned humility, focus on alignment, and the amazing power of the breath. Attending workshops with Shiva Rea, Seane Corn, Rusty Wells, Sharon Gannon (Jivamukti), Cindy Lusk (Anusara), Gurmuhk (Kundalini), and the awesome Baron Baptiste, she continues to come to the mat with a beginnerï¿∏s mind, open to learn from everyone every day. She attended both level 1 and level 2 teacher trainings with Baron during which she learned not only to connect to her students, but a responsibility to be present in the world, right now, for others and herself.

She feels honored to share what her teachers have taught her and hopes to create an environment that facilitates transformation, healing, and strength.
